March 23rd, 2020
As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop we no longer feel that it is a responsible choice for us to continue normal operations and remain open. We expect to hear of a statewide lockdown order sometime this week, which reinforces to us that this is the right decision to protect our Dog Might Family. The two owners will continue to come in on a rotating schedule to ship whatever they can, until the lockdown is officially in place.
While we weather this storm, we still have fixed expenses that will need to be covered, so you will continue to see in-stock emails and updates. Anything ordered during this time will be shipped as soon as we can. We are taking as much equipment home a possible and will continue to do our best to run the company from the safety of home. While we figure out this new setup please be patient as our customer service response times will be delayed.
We've been doing what we love every day for 7 years and we don’t intend to stop now. We will be regrouping, coming up with crazy ideas, probably drinking some mead, and charging back better then ever as soon as we are given the all clear. Thank you for your support during this time and remember this is a battle that we are all in together and we can win!
With love from our entire DMG Team
Shipping and Communications Delays
March 24th, 2020
State wide quarantine prevents us from shipping items. Please be patient. We will return to the shop as soon as possible and will be shipping the backlog at that time.
How it Impacts Us
COVID-19 is impacting the workforce in different ways around the globe. It is important that we all react with a sense of calm and seriousness. Our customers, staff, and business partners are all affected by the spread of Coronavirus and we are actively monitoring the situation as it unfolds.
Paid Sick Time
We have always felt that paid time off is an essential part of running a successful shop. Paid time off impacts our customers, staff, and business partners in equally positive ways. All Dog Might employees have paid sick days as well as paid vacation days. We rely on each individual to responsibly utilize this time and have instructed all staff to stay home when sick, especially during the current situation.
OSHA Health and Safety
Our shop has been fully inspected by Occupation Health and Safety here in Michigan. We provide all appropriate safety gear and maintain state health standards throughout all areas of the shop. All employees have been trained on safety and we have recently made special efforts to educate the staff on Coronavirus and applicable safety measures. It is our goal to minimize the impact of any sickness while running a shop that is responsible to both it's customers and employees.
Supply Chain Issues
We source a number of machine tools, hardware, and parts overseas. Many of these suppliers have reported delays in manufacturing as they deal with the Coronavirus spread, some of which have already impacted our production schedules. We have worked with many of these suppliers for a number of years and trust that their policies are in effect for the betterment of their staff and communities. We intend to continue to do business with our suppliers but have been forced to seek alternatives in the short term resulting in delays.
We are not willing to put our staff at risk or suggest people work under unsafe conditions. As a result there may be delays with some orders. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to hit production deadlines as we balance the outcome of the Coronavirus and its global impact.
Thank You & Take Care
Please be good to everyone around you and take care of yourself. We appreciate your understanding as we work through the unfolding events and how they impact everyone across the globe. We apologize if the effects of the Coronavirus impact your order in a negative way. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and adapt accordingly.
